Well knotter problems cost me some valuable time today so no good action photos of the baling or bale picking up process but I did snap a couple pics at dark. Got all the bales (guessing 160 or so) picked up before dew set in. 2 truck beds full plus the 16' trailer stacked as high as I care to throw from the ground.

Congrats on getting your wife to pose for a picture. My wife hates cameras and runs from them. She has painted herself out of every pic that I have posted of her operating equipment.

My baler has seen time behind the little Kubota diesel, the Farmall h, and the Farmall M. I like the M on it best out of my old and not worth much tractors but the Kubota has ran it the most for me. Back when I started this masochistic hobby the little Kubota was the only tractor I had. I like the Kubota on the baler very much as it has good choice of speeds and being diesel no governor surges. That said, a baler can be known to be hard on the tractor drivelines so better to use one with some beef in the drivelines plus my old Farmalls not worth anything anyhow so if it tears one up of them up then not out all that much.

My wife helps bale, She will run the baler, she will rake or tedd, and she always drives the truck pulling the trailer as I stack. Stacking whether loading or unloading is all me though. I enjoy the physical workout.

I bought a 350 row crop thinking it would be great to pull the bailer. I thought the live Pto would be helpful. It didn't work out. the disk brakes wouldn't stop the tractor and my arm got tired of pulling on the pto lever to make it work. I could adjust it and after a short time it was slipping again. My wife has been with me since she was 14. She ought to be like I want her I raised her LOL. I have help with the hauling My neighbor who owns the hayfield helps. he rakes as I bale and we both haul. We are both old geezers so we take plenty of beer breaks.

I love beer, but skip it mostly when haying. I need fluids like room temperature water (prefer it over ice water), Gatorade, sweet tea, an occasional Pepsi made with real sugar. I can even go totally without food but I gotta have the fluids. I save the beer till absolutely done for the day.

FWIW: I far from a spring chicken myself as I will be 50 in a couple years.

Hate to hear the 350 was a bad purchase. I was thinking a super h or better yet a 300 or a 350 would be a nice upgrade to my plain ole h. That said, I have always heard the live PTO on the early Farmall's was far from robust. That is one thing I really like about the ole h's and m's: granted the PTO is not live but it is very simple and very robust.

The 350 has a C175 engine a H has a C142. and the live Hyd and fast hitch are nice. the disk brakes and Pto not worth much. My wife called the 350 a H in a fancy dress. We also have a 300 utility. It has the C165 engine its also two point fast hitch with Live hyd. Its a standard PTO. and no power steering. We like it pretty well. The engine is burning oil and a set of rings didn't help. So ive bought sleeves & pistons ect. those old M,s have a C248 from the factory. And after all these years many have recieved a overbore kit making them a C264 the same size as a super M. the super M,s all had live hyd ,disk brakes & larger diameter rear axles. There are plenty of regular M,s with super M decals. All told we have 15 tractors a backhoe and four bulldozers. all of them at least 50 years old or more . My neighbor who we hay with has a really good H farmall.
