1950 Ford 8N 3point hitch not working right

Hi Guys I have a 1950 8 N that the 3 point hitch dosen't work right. We have replaced the hydraulic pump, upper cylinder, piston ,rings,and all gaskets and the arm that goes thru the big spring on the back, The draft control level(the short one under the right side of the seat)seems to be stopping the 3 point hitch from working unless I strap the lever down real hard. Does anyone know what is happening. HELP!!!

Have you replaced the cam follower pin? What you describe is a symptom of it being worn out or missing.
