1950 Massy Ferugson TO20
I just purchased my first tractor. I would like to restore it to a point. The first thing i need to know is how to remove the fenders and the hood. The hood opens but is attacted to tractor. This would be the first items that is in need of repair. I am new and not sure where to post this thread, if i am in the wrong please tell where to post how to find it.
Thanks

Your obviously a newbie so the first peice of advice I would give is to invest in the Ferguson Shop Manual ( not the IT Manua). and the parts manual. All the info you need is in the shop manual and the parts manual will help you see how things go together. (You might be able to see the parts breakdown on the AGCO website, also). I'd also recommend you get a TO-20 operators manual. You can find these on ebay, or order them from an AGCO dealer , etc. You won't regret having these manuals and they can be had for ~$50-$60 in total if you look around on the web.

To remove the hood, there are two bolts that the hood pivots around on each side next to the front axle. Unlatch the hood and then remove those bolts and the hood will come off.

Each fender is attached to the rear axle with a pair long bolts/nuts. Undo the bolt/nutss and remove the fenders.

Jerry is right about the manuals. That will get your compass headed in the right direction from the beginning. Don't be tempted to buy some of those manuals on CD on ebay. They are junk. You can check here on TBN and someone may have restored a TO20. Do this exactly

"TO20 restoration site:tractorbynet.com"

without the quotes and use Google or your favorite search engine and a world of info will pop up. Welcome to TBN and congratulations on your new hobby.
