So I just traded for a TO 20 and brought it home. It runs and operates but needs a little TLC. I am not going to restore it just freshen it up a bit. Ferguson.jpg

Cool! My neighbor picked up a TE-20 he plans to restore. The difference is the TE was produced in England and the TO was produced overseas - America. Interestingly, Harry Ferguson invented the three point.

That's a good tractor, I have owned his big brother, TO 35 for 39 years and done a lot of hard work with it.

I have a broken down one (cracked block) in the shed. I would like to restore it someday since it goes back in the family 3 generations.

My gas tank leaks from the outlet fitting, valve cover leaking, wrong starter solenoid, gauges not working, master brake pedal only operates one side, oil on brake shoes, paint, just to name a few things she needs.

Taking a few things off to clean and paint, dash/steering column, hood. The valve cover was leaking bad and the gasket was missing from about 6 inches. Been using oven cleaner to degrease/depaint the tough stuff that was baked on. Then pressure wash to clean the rest. Looking for suggestions on cleaning the inside of the engine, really caked with crud. Got some parts ordered, just got to get ready to put the parts on, and see what else I need.

Got to clean out the gas tank too!

I need photos of the brake linkage on both sides of a TO20. Mine has something wrong/missing. Master pedal has linkage missing from right and left releases instead of braking when pressing master pedal.

Cleaning out the inside of the engine is tough, if you were to use an additive to loosen a lot of sludge you are taking a chance that it will plug your oil pump pick up. Use a good grade of detergent oil and change it frequently, you might help it a lot.
