My grandpa has a 1956 Farmall with the Rockford clutch (serial #5036J) and I'm trying to sell it for him. The problem is, I know absolutely nothing about tractors and even less when it comes to pricing them. I'll post some pics of what I have and if there is anything ya'll can tell me about it its greatly appreciated! I'll tell you what I do know. He's had this tractor for about 20-25 years and has used it almost daily and here in the last year weekly. It fires right up with no smoke and runs strong. He's never had any major mechanical problems with it and has had it tuned up every year. It has a Woods L 59 mowing deck. Has hydraulic hookups though i do not know the flow rate or pressure. Apart from the surface rust its in great shape. The only problem it has currently is the wheel on the mower fell off and he ran over it with the deck. It bent one of the blades (not bad) but he was still able to use it to cut grass. Again, thanks for any and all help I can get on this. I'm looking to put it on ebay but I like to know what I have before I start trying to explain it to other people! :D

It's highly dependant on where you're at. Seen them $1500-2500, depending on location and condition.

Try looking over on Antique Tractors - Yesterday's Tractors : Antique Tractor Headquarters Check out the classifieds and the photo-ads

Location would be southern Indiana near Lousiville, KY. As far as condition I would rank it as a 6.5 out of 10 with 10 being immaculate. and thanks for the link, I'll check it out!

I would think it to be in $2500-$3500 range, I'm about 100 miles west of you.
If you want to hold it another year or two I may be interested in it, but right now I just bought a tractor not long ago and I'd like to stay married.

Sorry Birdhunter1, he's looking to sell the tractor as soon as possible. We just bought a 60" 0-degree turning radius lawnmower and what took 4 hours to cut we can now do in an hour. Since he's been using it he knows everything works, he doesn't want to put it in the barn and just let it sit.

What exactly is the Rockford clutch? Anything special about it?

Probably about the same in this area (Mass/Conn). What waht I've seen in this area almost all early 1950's good working iron is in the 2000 to 3000 range

Just a note: I believe your tractor to be a 1957 rather than a '56. I think the 130 replaced the the "100" which was made in 55/56. I've got the 230 (tri-cycle front) that is a '57 and is the first year it was made. I also believe the 130 was built for about 2 years and was replaced in '59 or so by the 140. Good tractors. If everything works good and not any excessive play in the steering or growling in the trans, you should be able to get $2200 to $2700 in most areas. Good luck. BobG in VA
