1959 Farmal Cub - PTO pops out of gear

Just got Grandpas ol' cub motor rebuilt. Hooked up woods belly mower. PTO probably hasnt been used in 10 years. While mowing, about every 5-10 seconds, the PTO handle makes a grinding noise. Then all of the sudden the PTO pops out of gear and starts grinding, but the handle is still in the engage position.

I would guess the little nub on the bell crank shaft #15 is worn enough to maybe not fully engage the grooved collar #14, onto the shaft, or worn enough to slip out of the groove.

The cub pto levers are EXTREEEEMLY flimsy and thats why I made up 5 extra ones for my own use!--they wear/break off on the bottom all the time!---(an IH design FLAW,---cubs are loaded with them! ) I own/use 8 of these little toy tractors myself and have learned most of the problems that go with using them! thanks; sonny: 580
