Here's a few sources I've bookmarked when looking for stuff for my 580B - I wouldn't spend TOO much time trying to get the eps site to help much, they re-did their site and it's totally worthless lately. I sent 'em an email complaining, haven't heard back. Think I'll call during business hours and see if I can get 'em on the stick, their prices on what I've bought seem at least as good as others, in some instances better... Steve

Dope: I have a 1962 Case 530 with the exact hydraulic cylinder (single) that you show above. You are the FIRST person to refer to that single cylinder steering situation, or even have a picture of it. I really appreciate it. I've been told that Case had 4 different steering arrangements on the 530, & this single cylinder was on a utility farm tractor, not the CK model. I've got the steering box apart, & was putting it back together when I had to stop & have open heart surgery (6 bypasses...no wonder I was running out of energy so quickly!!). I'm on the mend, & looking forward to getting back to the restoration on my 530. Now, THANKS to DJ54 for the link to the manuals. I do have a manual, but these pages are much more detailed than what I have (though they don't have the single cylinder steering that I have on my tractor. My tractor runs great, the bucket & backhoe work just fine (I'll have to replace some cylinder seals, but that's down the road a bit). My problem is it wouldn't run over a rock...the transmission was pooping out on me. I rebuilt the transmission hydraulic pump. It's now back in, & when I fire it up...I won't know if that's the problem, or if I have to split the case & work on the torque converter. I'll find out when it's running & I put it in gear.

DJ54: Thanks so much for that page. I've bookmarked it, as well as printed it to put in my book. Interesting that I ahve not been able to find that in any manual, anywhere. So glad you had it. It's going to be 6-8 weeks before I can get back out on the property & work on the tractor...unless I can find an able bodied mechanic who is willing to help me. Quite a project that I have going.

You're surely welcome. I'm thinking Case at that time was using up parts that fit both Ag. tractors, while going towards a strictly construction machine. A lot of part changes came at certain serial numbers. Even my newer '79 480C has certain parts that were different at certain serial number breaks.

I've found it's much easier to find difficult parts for them by searching the part number, if you can find one on said part. And, if said part was used on a Ag. tractor also, if it's a dealer item only, prices of those parts are generally 10% cheaper through an Ag. dealer, than through a construction dealer.

DJ54: Thanks for the info. When I'm fully recovered from surgery (open heart...6 bypasses!), I'll post more information & questions. When I get it back running (it runs great...that will be no problem...when I get it all back together) I will find out what else needs to be done. Give me a month or two, & let's see how I do. Thanks again. Bob
