I just bought this tractor and im trying to figure out which lever engages/disengages the PTO. Right now when the tractor is running the pto is spinning...when the tractor is off you can easily spin the PTo by hand

The second picture dont show what the lever is hooked to, but looks like it goes to where the PTO engage/disengage should be.

The first pic looks like a draft override for the 3PH.

But I am not entirely familiar with the 4000. But what I just said is where they are located on the older fords like the 600/800 and N's

Sorry for asking stupid questions but I'm new to tractors.... I know what my draft is but, what is the draft override and what does it do?

The second pic is PTO engagement. I believe first one controls aux hydraulic functions.

Well, if you know what draft control is, then draft override simply overrides that and gives you true position control.

I don't know what the first lever is but the independent pto lever is the on shown one the left side of the tractor. Forward engages the pto. Some time the clutch pack doesn't completely disengage so the pto will spin even though the lever is not engaged. but it will not transmit any significant amount of torque and if you have a mower or tiller attached to it won't spin them until you move the lever fwd.

1st pic is draf/position control, up for position.. down for draft.

2nd pic as said is pto.

if the pto spins when not engaged.. figure bad pto brake.. not uncommon.

test with a 2x4.. if not engaged.. laying a 2x4 levereged against it should slow and stop the to. if not.. then you have issues.. like a piled up clutch..e tc.. warped discs.. etc..e tc..
