mf135 1967 gas engine
I have a newbie question for an OLD massey furgusson 1967 continental gas. My question is : Is the wire that is attached to the hydraulics filter hard to replace or put back together ? My hydraulics oil is real bad(white) on the old tractor that I've picked up. Looking to change the hydraulics (looks easy) but the hydraulic filter looks a little harder by what I'm reading. On thing that bugs me, there's a hand made enclose cab on the tractor that might be in my way. If I would just do a hydraulic oil change be ok ?. Maybe filling the transmission with diesel for 24 hours and drain it could clean the screen filter in place ?

Thanks

If you can stick a borescope or small camera in there to verify the filter screen is in good shape, not plugged up you can probably get away with not replacing it. As for the wire, a pair of safety wire pliers will put that twist back in a new piece of wire real quick, they're inexpensive, and do a nice job. Worth having whether you need them for this job or not.
