Buying Advice 1972 JD 1520

I have an opportunity to buy a 1972 JD 1520 tractor with 6ft bush hog. The tractor needs a new gas tank and battery. Not sure of hours. Just wondering what this tractor's value is? I can buy it for $3k.

If the rest of it is in good shape I would buy it. You could still spend some money on it, use it for a few years and get it all back.

A couple of years ago I sold this 820 31 pto. hp tractor for $6,000 with no attachments included. In good running condition. I spent about $7,800 in total on it excluding lof's and used it for about 13 years and sold it. That made this tractor cheap to own imo.
