Just wondering what this thing would be worth? I need something for light yard work and maybe some snow plowing. Saw this and figured hey since I thought about getting a snowblower this could serve a dual purpose. The guy wants $1500 for it and the tandem trailer to haul it. What should I be looking for with this? Leaks in hydraulics, engine power, tire wear? I'm not looking for much but price sounds good if it's running decent.

When a new outfit to replace that unit with trailer sells for about 20,000 how much do you think might be wrong with it for the price of 1500. You may have a very good freind indeed, one that age could have most everything wrong with it. Look carefully as they use a drive belt between the engine and pumps. Leaks, welds, shorts or non-working electricals can be obvious. For the money it sounds tough to beat!

The trailer alone is probably worth close to that 1500. Sounds like you are right on track with the things to look at for a machine like that. Just remember that a machine that age has a limited life expectancy... then again if it was well kept and wasn't abused, you could still get quite a few years out of it. Do expect maintainance costs to be higher due to the age of the machine and potentially the availability of specific parts for that model.

I figure it is a decent deal though. Basically 1500 for a trailer and he's thowing in the SkidSteer for free.

Oh yeah, if you are planning on running a snowblower on it make sure you have adequate hydaulic flow on that model to handle it.
