first post, looking for advice. i am going to look at a 1977 214 with a 38" deck and plow attachement. buyer is asking $700 obo, any advice on what to look for on these older tractors is highly appreciated.
Confirm the variable speed drive works smoothly since on these older mowers the variable drive pulleys can become worn or sticky and not work.
Check to see if the shift lever feels like it is locking into gear. On my old 112 the detent springs would take a set and allow the shifter to pop out of gear under load.
