John Deere 850
Hello all,

Been messing with an 80 bucket I installed on a 1982 850. Everything pretty much works, but when lifting it has no power, I flip the hoses and it lifts fine, but goes down slow, but it does not have any down force power when on the ground. When the hoses are on normal as they should, it has no lift power, but all down force power.

I know I have them on the correct control because of the float mode.

3 point works fine.

Am I missing something? New to troubleshooting they hydro's

Have a great day.

I’d start by checking for a chunk of debris in on the the quick connects and then in the other fittings. Sounds like something is blocked.

Thank you, I will double check that next weekend when I am back to my place. I appreciate the response.

Try swapping to the bucket valve. If the problem persists, start checking couplers and lines for the boom/lift cylinders. If the problem goes away, it could be the lift female couplers are partially plugged or the lift valve has an internal leak.
Sometimes there is an orifice in the line, usually at the male coupler if there is one. It could be too small or partially plugged.
