Roger that flat as a pancake thing, same here on the Texas gulf coast. The highest point around here is an overpass.

Congratulations on a fine purchase! I am the "caretaker" for a 1986 1910 with almost 1200 hours on it. It has a Ford loader, 12 speed manual, and "front wheel assist" (four wheel drive). My father-in-law bought it used in 1991 when it had about 500 hours on it.

As I have been runnnig through all of the maintenance procedures and fixing things here and there that have worn out I have decided that this line up of tractors is an excellent vintage. Minimal plastic, simple systems, and pretty easy to repair.

Welcome to TBN -- an excellent resource!

Amen, I take disfigured(battle scared) sheet metal with a bit of surface rust over any plastic stuff.

JC,

Yes fully agreeing....I have an odd problem here but don't complain at all! At just about same time I arrived home with the 1910,some 10 days ago,I also got another tractor wich is a 1973 Wheelhorse 18 HP Kohler gas motor. Now this one is in need of some works and for the last week I must admit I spent 95 % of my time working on the old one...thick metal, heavy duty everywhere that one is! The moderns were all for the MFRGs not for the consumers!

The smoke is normal,my 1910 has been doing it since day one. That how they ran back then....they didnt care if they puffed a little smoke under load.

puffing a lil under acceleration is fine.. and at startup.. but once running at a steady beat.. it really shouldn't smoke much at all. 'back then' they made em good... my 75 ford 5000 only smokes a puf right during cranking, and when I put the throttle to her.. otherwise.. no visible smoke from stack when mowing or pulling.. etc.
