1987 MF 240 Hydraulic Fluid Info

Hi,
I am getting ready to change the hydraulic fluid under the seat.. Few question. Where is drain screw? Where to pour new fluid in? How many gallon or liter? Do I change when it is warm or cold?

I have repair manual but unfortunately I can't remember where I put them.. I am in between break of my motorcycle traveling (motorcycle in South America) and I empty my house into storage to rent it out. I want to change fluid before my ground keeper cut grass this summer. Thanks in advance for answering!

get on the ground under the tractor and look for the plug . Its been 25 yrs since I worked on a massy but It be on belly of transmission .

should be similar to the pic I posted , Like I said Its been a long time since I worked on one like yours but My little 35 ferg has the same cap on the tranny

On my 230, the drain is on the diff casting directly under the seat. The cap to refill it is the the left of the shifter with a large hex head on it.

While you have it drained, you should clean the strainer, which is accessed via the the plate on the bottom of the diff housing with three nuts.
