I have a JD180 lawn tractor with a Peerless transaxle. I have rebuilt the transmission (a couple of gears and shifting keys) before due to lurching and skipping in the most used gears 2 and 3. This time the tranny is locked and the case has a hole in it. I have looked at replacing the unit, but the prices are more than what I paid for the mower. The engine runs like a top and the chassy and sheet metal is in nice condition. I am looking at replacing the rear transaxle with another brand or make or... Posting here to see if the trail has been blazed by someone already. I could just replace the top and all the gears....Any recommendations for part suppliers? Thanks. Stay healthy.
