I have been reading posts on TBN for a while now. The web site has been a great education for me. There is a lot of knowledge on TBN.
I have recently purchased a little over 6 acres that is mostly wooded. I am looking to clear this land to build and then maintain the grounds after construction is finished.
On a recent trip to the Kubota dealer ship (every Saturday more if I can fit them in) they had the following on consignment from an individual who had just sold his acreage and was no longer needing the tractor.
1990 L3250 4WD Tractor w/ 314 Hrs (4cyl, 40hp, 32pto) Shuttle Shift
BF400 Loader
BL4690 Backhoe w/ two buckets
6’ Box Blade
FMC SW-66 Rotary Cutter 5’
1997 18’12K Trailer with brakes on one axle
From a quick look over it seems to be in good visible shape . The dealer has said that all maintenance has been preformed there.
Asking $18k
One thing that did notice is that the BH is not a sub frame mount; it is attached to the 3 pt. I have read on TBN that this set up is rough on the tractor itself but I was wondering how bad? I will be putting in a driveway that will be about 1000’ long and digging utility lines about 1200’. Will this be too much for the BH and 3 pt hitch?
The hours do not seem to be to bad about 20 p/yr. The age is a bit of a concern though. I will have enough work ahead of me and do not want to have another project on my hands.
Any thoughts on the price, BH issue and age would be greatly appreciated. Thank You in advance for your help.
