1990 Toro Goundmaster cutting out

Looking for a little help here. Have toro groundmaster, about 1990 vintage. Every thing is falling off lately (just turned over 1100 hr.) and most of it have been able to figure out except this one. It got back from getting towed off a fence post it was stuck on. The problem is that the engine is running wonderful but when push the HST pedal past a certain point the engine cuts out like a kill switch was hit, forwards or backwards, if return the pedal a little runs normal again. Also happens at any engine speed, so figure the pedal has something to do with it. Filled the hydraulics, so that is not the issue. Had power but no speed, about 1/2 or so. Checked the stuff in the manual and still same issue.

Any other suggestions?

Did it do this before it got hung up on the fence post? Maybe bent something underneath in the linkage?

Does this have a seat switch? Any chance that in pressing the pedal farther, you're "lifting a cheek" so it thinks you've fallen off?

No, have not looked if the linkage is touching anything else, was hoping for a couple other ideas and what to look at before taking a nap under it so i look busy. (just kidding).

Thought of the seat switch, may just take all the prespring out of it and see if that helps. Or even bypass it all together (and that may be true already).

No, it did not do this before the tow job. There were forks and chains involved but beyond that i am not sure. In my mind, there are some things that are just due to age and some from the tow but cannot tell which witch is which.
