On the stabilizers, when setting up to use backhoe, when I lowered it here the other day it lifted the side momentarily then collapsed. I again applied hydraulic to the control and all was fine- meaning it lifted that side up and held. Also once this winter I had an issue where the bucket when full of material wouldn't hold up unless I held the lever in the up position, this also only happened once and hasn't again, ANY SUGGESTIONS AS TO WHAT COULD be the culprit would be appreciated. Thanks

I am going to do a complete Hydraulic Fluid change with Hy-Trans Ultra here when the weather gets a little warmer.

Don't forget the filter! I would say so far it's hard to help you! You have different valve systems that are letting you down.

Thanks for the response. I had a similar incident again today, the right rear stabilizer when extended -- bled off -- had to apply hydraulic pressure to the handle again to get it to lift, then it was fine until I was through -- other side doesn't do it.. where should I look for the problem...

thanks\

For it to be a come and go thing as it seems to be doing it tells me it isn't easy to find the problem.
I'd say it isn't in the cylinder if once they are in position they normally hold.
I'd say the same about the valve,
Getting on past, those would normally be the only two things in the system that could do what you have happen! They would be consistant problems! Yours isn't!

I would wonder if there is not a different check valve system on that tractor that could be the failing part that would allow it to bleed off prematurely for the name of safety.

The fact that you have had two different things or valved systems react in the same way makes me wonder.

To look at a diagram of the system would help if you have one available.

Once the valve goes back to neutral, the fluid is locked in the cyl. For the cyl to collapse like you said, the cyl could be bypassing, or the lever went past neutral to retract.

Maybe there was air in the cyl.

With the hoses and cyl full of fluid, and the cyl and valve are good, then is almost impossible for the cyl to fall or give way.

Kingriver,

Yank that cyl and repack it.......9 out of 10 times it's your seals inside the cyl....
