I've got the 2000 NH 1920 as my first tractor, which I think is the same tractor without hydrostatic drive, and I have been extremely happy with it. Things to check: clutch (had to replace mine at 700 hours, previous owner 'rode' the clutch and wore it out), seals on the front 4WD axle, wiring and safety switch condition (had numerous problems with aged wiring harness), hydraulic pressure and hoses and 3 point hitch movement, crankcase oil (of course), color and condition and level of hydraulic fluid. The engine should crank easily with sufficient voltage to the starter. I am not a big fan of hydrostatic drives so I cannot comment on that but they can be problematic in unkept and aged condition.
