1999 Farm Pro 2420 2wd

Hi I own a 1999 Farm pro 2420 2wd front end loader tractor. I recently have had a starting problem with it. Whenever i turn the key to start it I get a loud grinding/clicking noise. I had the altenator and starter checked for any problems and both checked out, I also charged the battery. When i took off the starter I noticed the teeth of the flywheel were grinded down pretty badly. I am now wondering is it the flywheel causing this? Do I need to disassemble the whole engine to replace the flywheel? Or is the problem somewhere else? Thanks for any help. -Clinton
