1st of the sweet corn sales

This is our 1st year to raise sweet corn and sell it. This was my boys project and I felt like he has done well so far. We planted an acre total and a 1/2 acre at a time. He made $750 off of the the 1st half. There was few rows that didn't get picked but that was due to his Grandfather passing away. Second half should be ready in a week or so. I was real suprised at how well it went over. One guy bought 50 dozen and another Lady bought 20 dozen. He gave them a break on price for buying so much. He picked his Ford Ranger full and would sell it all in a few hours. He had alot of people wanting tomatoes.

Good to hear your son is taking a step towards working hard... So many kids these days will not work for anything. They expect everything to be handed to them.

Thanks I should have said my ex father in law. But still sad. He was the only thing I missed about my exwife. He was a good guy.

There is good money in stuff like that, people love it. Wish I was near you I sure would buy some more too. I LOVE sweet corn.

We have an awesome farmers market in town and there is a guy who brings a panel truck loaded with sweet corn from floor to ceiling every week. Farmers market is open from 8:00-2:00 and usually by noon he is sold out. Not sure if it's his soil or what but it's some the best corn around. I paid $2.75 for 6 ear and I think a dozen was $4.00 He usually starts selling early July and will have corn through mid September or later. I dont what he takes home each Saturday, but I'm guessing it $5k or more.
