I've had my XUV for close to 4 months. I had a slight rattle with the bed. Repaired it with rubber from an old tube.
She gets driven quite a bit by my 2 sons (11 and 16), they cut her no slack. Wife uses it for yard work daily and never turns it off. (bugs me). Then I stress test it, I move rocks, pull cars and get muddy with her at least twice a week. I believe we are going on 200 hours.
If the XUV has any problems I've yet to find one!

I had more issues with my hpx and I didn't think they were real problems.
My hpx was slow to start. Slow bottom and top end. Rode like log wagon and was hard to steer. The rear differential was a design flaw.
John Deere addressed all these issues and the much improved XUV was launched for close to the same price as the hpx.

Look at other utvs then look back at the xuv. Check out the Polaris rzr. It has real problems.(I will own one tho) Its about the fun.

Any offroad vehicle requires some mechanical know how if you plan on having it long and riding it hard.

This is an $8000 dollar toy. I paid over $10,000 for my rhino and the xuv is constructed much better and rides like a car. I have no doubt which will last the longest. The XUV is the best bang for the buck utv made.
Drive it and have fun~! ;)

hey Skip
I have over 50 hours on my xuv and so far this is a great utility vehicle.
It is louder than I would like, but overall I am pleased.
I installed a curtis heater and plan on getting a plow and hard doors for this winter. We have a long winter in Northwest Montana.
Someone was saying that the rearend is too light built and would not hold up.
I disagree, this thing is made very well. What do you think about the rearend Skip?
The xuv rides better than any utv I have tried, Kubota,Rhino, and Ranger.
It may not go as fast as some, but in my opinion it will outlast them, I guess time will tell.

The naysayers are people that don't own an XUV. Some will find reason to whine about anything.
I agree the XUV is louder, I'm a little hard of hearing so it doesn't bother me.
I love the low end takeoff. I adjusted the throttle stop and topend is now close to 38 mph.
When you get a chance, post some pictures.

I agree, it is hard to ride in an hpx for a very long period. Get an XUV before your hpx has no trade in value~! ;)

I had read the talk about the Polaris Ranger RZR. Now that reviews and photos are available, and with your comment I did some more reading. You say there are real problems. I'm just curious as to what they are.

I don't think I will upgrade my HPX to a XUV and will keep it. Since my ATV was stolen, I've wanted another ATV, and the RZR would be the fun way to go (like you said). I drove past my Polaris dealer today and I didn't see any displayed. Are they out yet? The RZR has certain features like the speed, full windshield and bimini top that would be nice on a trail. Maybe someone who has a RZR could start a thread.
