I got my new B7500 on Monday and I am as happy with it as everyone else seems to be with their 'Botas. Moved a ton of horse shavings, regraded our gravel drive, and spread sand on my lawn, which was full of holes from moles and the horses getting out. The R4s (filled in back) did no damage at all to the lawn.

Figured out I could do finish smoothing best by floating the bucket and feathering out the end of the run by rotating the bucket instead of lifting it -- an accomplishment I was inordinately proud of.

Had no significant mishaps except I drove it for about 30' in low with the brake set. Whacked a small tree limb with my ROPS which worked out well, because I learned to keep an eye on it, and when I put it in the garage for the first time, I found I had a whole 1" of vertical clearance to the top of the door. Glad to have a place to lock it up, though.

In about two hours I did an amount of work that would have taken me a day or two without it. I honestly can't imagine how I ever kept my 4-acre place up without it. Gotta love the 'Bota.

Now I need to start collecting 3-pt attachments (used, if I can find 'em).

I ransacked the Kubota discussion groups for info on the purchase and, later, operation of my new baby. This place is a gold mine! Thanks to all who post.

Haa! Good luck on that one...used 3pt stuff is pretty hard to come by, at least anything small enough for our CUTs and Sub-CUTs! But you never know what you might find if you keep your eyes open... /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I have only a fraction of your land, but I had a similar experience; a dirt pile, several cubic yards, that represented many, many days worth of manual labor. The dirt had been removed over the years from various excavations, mostly for concrete work, with a pick and shovel. The soil here is filled with rocks, so a shovel cannot effectively be used by itself. The dirt was wheelbarrowed to a spot along a boundry wall, or to other piles that have subsequently been moved again and combined.

The day after I got the tractor, I used the pile to practice. Even for a total novice, with the engine only as high as needed to prevent lugging, that pile was gone far too quickly! The dirt was then spread over an area that is going to be sodded, providing some box blade practice, with a little tiller time to mix it all up. In the end, the same experience as yours- I accomplished more in the first couple of hours (having fun /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif) than I could of in days of hard manual labor (not as much fun /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif).

Given that we are semi-actively looking for property in the 5-20 acre range, I never intend to be in your shoes of wondering how I maintained all that land with no tractor. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Banjo

Isn't it cool having fun doing chores that use to be work!

I've had my little girl only two weeks and last night I used the backhoe to dig a 5 foot hole to bury some bricks that were debris from my BBQ rebuilding project. Those bricks have sat in my garden tractor wagon for over a year with no place to go. Only problem was I had the job done in only 30 minutes.

Attachments, my next one has to be a trailer to get this girl up to my other house. I thought I would be making the transfer only twice a year. I know that won't work now!!!

Be safe

Mike

Welcome to the B7500 club Banjo. I have had mine for a little over a week and have had a ball operating it. FEL operation did take some time but I think I got it licked. Now I get heaped bucket loads. After it stops raining I'll be moving a very large pile of topsoil in the front yard (15' high) and spreading it out over the ruts in the backyard. Cutting grass, back there, is brutal on the kidneys with the JD 120 lawn tractor (CFO property). Figure I'll use the FEL and a 6' rake to level out those ruts.

Enjoy the toy, er, aaah, tractor............. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Amazing machines, aren't they. I have really enjoyed mine. A suggestion. Spend a little time reading the Safety forum, if you haven't already. I think of some of the things I did when I first got my tractor and I am lucky I didn't have an accident. I started reading that forum and learned a lot. It changed some of my operating habits. These machines are powerful enough to get ya into big trouble fast. Have fun.
