1st Congrats to the other new Boomer owners, like myself, I read about earlier...

My wife and I went last saturday to her sister's house to pick up the brush cutter they are loning us...This was fun... We had a 4x8 trailer with side rails to pick up a 4' cutter...so of course the cutter was as wide as the rails so it would not sit on the deck. Our solution...sit 2 2x4's accross the rails and sit the cutter down on them. Then tie it down with about 80' of rope.(figured we had the rope use it).Got the cutter home hit the latch on the trailer(it's a tilt bed) drug it off with the tractor and a couple of tie downs.Next the fun part...hooking it up.I let the wife help here actually insisted. Finally get it hooked up and relize the pto shaft is way to long...(*!*#$*)/w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif Needless to say I had lotts of fun and the wife, well it was raining after all,was not happy. So when I get the shaft back from the welder (home made shaft from axels that came with it for us with an 83 JD 70hp ) I'll get back with ya'll. BTW the the 4' box blade works great!/w3tcompact/icons/cool.gif The realy good news is after my wife helped me with all the implement swapping I may have here sold on those QUICK CONNECT plates...Even after I told her about the cost. Since she's ony 5'4" and 110 soaking wet she had real hard time with hooking up the brush cutter. O' well we'll see.

Paul,

Congratulations on the new TC21! My wife is envious, she liked the small frame Boomers but we ended up with a large frame Boomer based on our needs.

Like the idea of the Freedom Hitch, hmmm I wonder if I can sell that ...

Paul,

Make sure you change that bio and be listed in the ranks of the proud, the few (and growing) -- the blue owners! /w3tcompact/icons/cool.gif

Best wishes for you and the new tractor. Keep us updated. I keep seeing all these wives and tractor stories. I can't even get my wife near mine. But, maybe thats a good thing. Enjoy.

Speaking of wives and tractors - since getting the new tractor recently, my friends like to play (and/or sing /w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif) a song entitled "She thinks my tractor's sexy" by Kenny Chesney. Even though I not a big country music fan it is pretty funny /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif.

Peter,

Toothbar is in, works great! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif Unfortunately I have not been able to spend much time digging the past week or two. Been busy with electrical work on the new house. Now that the electrical is behind me hope to get some digging time in /w3tcompact/icons/cool.gif. Would love to have help, we could have a tractor party! /w3tcompact/icons/cool.gif/w3tcompact/icons/cool.gif Have some competition for who can move dirt fastest (and of course safest).

Thanks for asking. Love that toothbar...

Thanks for all the kind words folks...

BTW I got the pto cut to fit the brush cutter and can you believe it??? it was right the first time to... No fault of mine though. The welder I used is familiar with tractors,so once I gave him the min and max length of the shaft and what it was going to be used for he knew what I needed right off. Imagine that a Welder in a farming community that nows a bit about tractors./w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif...Cost me a wopping $20 bucks!!!/w3tcompact/icons/cool.gifSure beat $200 for new one... So any way I cutt most of the day Sunday (yesterday) and realized 2 things. One, I better get out of the sun and go help the wife do some clearing by the pond. The pond is so over grown at the waters edge a fella can't even swing a fishing rod.You know I can't have that. #2, I deffinetly want a canopy.
Some one mentioned updating the old BIO,thanks will do!!!

Toothbar?!? I have'nt even got my FEL yet and have already been telling the wife about toothbars. She say's will see. She has'nt decided about the quick hitch as of yet, will see. That would be $800 bucks just for the pieces for the tractor, boxblade, rotory cutter, and the disc we are looking to buy.OUCH!!! that $800 would just about buy a nice trailer tote the tractor on...

BAck to work see ya'll

My wife loves to use OUR tractor. It's another thing to dispute over... who gets to drive it... She got me a good deal, so I usually give in & grab the chain or chain saw.
With repect to implements, don't rule out used. I have a wapping $500 total in a 5' rotary mower, 7' blade, & 6' box blade all together! I did give another $300 for a 6' landscape rake at the Quality Farm & Fleet labor day sale with coupon.
