2 Questions: Quality and Price?

I'm in the market for a farm tractor in the 35-45 hp range. Here's a Mitsubishi D3250 for sale near me, and I have no experience whatever with Mitsubishi tractors. What do y'all think? Is $7000 a decent price? Are Mitsubishi tractors OK to own (maintenance, parts availability, etc.)?

No way to know for sure, just from that ad, but it looks a bit like a grey market machine. The problem when I considered them a few years back include, Who rebuilt it? Was the work quality? Why was a mid 80's machine requiring rebuilding? Is it painted up to look nice, but really an offshore, dolled up machine? Just soooooooo many unanswerable questions. $7K is a lot of dough and for me? Just me? It would be on a machine I bought from the original owner/dealer with full work and maintenance records and oh, it would be a trustworthy name, dealer backed machine, your basic Green, Orange, Blue or Red, if you get my drift.

Nothing wrong with a Mitsu, but it wouldn't fit my criteria. Not when I could buy a Kubota, Ford, etc from the mid 80's for $7,000

I wouldn't buy the tractor either, pretty much for all the reasons bp stated. You can find used tractors from the big three around that price range. The mitsubishi may work good for someone, but there WILL come a time when you need parts.

if you dont know about tractors your best bet would be to look in your area and see what is the popular brand being used by your neighbors.then look into those types of tractors. find out where your parts supplier is and look for a tractor that will do the jobs you need it for.with the necessary attachments.tractors cant do much without attachments.learn the trade before you buy.look for roll over bar,power steering ,transmission,winch,cat 1 hitch,lights,hours ,tires,leaks,smokeing,paint ,just look at everything before buying.good luck.
