I have a ford 1300 that i use for mowing and snow removal. I keep it in an unheated pole building and don't have a heater on it. It starts fairly good in the winter down to 0 degrees.
I have a 60 inch tph Allied snowblower and have cleaned a lot of snow through the years that I have had it (around 8 years). So far this season I have cleared abour 45 inches of snow. My drive is gravel and is flat and it handles cleaning out pretty easily. The transmission has enough low gear to work without plugging up.

All that has much more to do with the relative value of the dollar in 1986 and 2010 than the "value" of the tractor. In these days of low inflation/deflation, we will have a whole new dynamic of equipment values in the coming years.

I love this web site: AIER Cost of Living Calculator. It's fun to check out the "good times" in relationship to now. $6200 in 1986 would be about $12128 nowadays.
