I can't get my B2620 out of 2 WD back to 4WD. Lever doesn't want to engage - even.

Put the transmission in drive, move forward a bit, let off the pedal then try to engage 4wd.

Also helps to turn the steering wheel while engaging the lever as you roll forward at very low torque.
If this doesn't work, check for any debris/sticks/etc jamming the 2-4WD shift linkage.

I had a similar problem going from 4wd to 2wd on my B7610. The lever seemed to require forcing. I'd engage, creep, try again. I just kept on doing it and it worked w/o grinding or breaking anything.

If you have a loader, use the bucket to raise the front end off the ground. A lot of times this takes enough pressure off the front end to shift easier.

Yes. I gave it three tries, and then walked away. When I came back I "jiggled" everything: steering wheel, transmissions...and it slipped right into FWD. I see you have a bunch of tractors: I think that is what I have to do also. One for the FEL and backhoe' One for the grader, cultivator and other PTO stuff; and one for mowing. Last time, the putting the mower deck only took a few minutes; this time took almost 2 hours (I think because I was frustrated with the 4wd... and the misquitoes and ticks). But now, all is good...UFDAH

Yes. I gave it three tries, and then walked away. When I came back I "jiggled" everything: steering wheel, transmissions...and it slipped right into FWD. Then I had trouble hooking up the mid PTO for the belly mower ....got that done, too. This may be easy for some; but its a challenge....and I get VERY HAPPY when it all comes together. So then, I mowed...we got about 5" of rain, and the "grass" was deep, with standing water in some places. It ain't pretty, but its mowed, and a lot of mosquitoes got fed. Love Northern MN....

be sure there's not an obstruction underneath like a branch ....happened to me today, glad it was an easy fix

I find with my B2620 if I keep light pressure on the lever while slowly moving forward,or backwards, it will easily go into,or out of,4WD.
