Hi! Dual tires as Let-Ca are better for less compaction but I think need 26.in tiller . More large implement make less pass and less compaction, Big heavy tractor on wet soil make hardpan not the implement by itself. For remove hardpan we must use a subsoiler. Some farmers dont plow but use a lot of chemical pruducts. I prefer 3k years old Plow 6 in. depth at fall. When soil is near dry at spring I use the tiller 2 in. depth for good seed bed. I till 1-2 in. in summer after a rain for weeds control . A small tillage after rain make air in soil isolate against humidity lost. Good Luck! Oldmech

Thanks for the input, been wondering about it for a while. I missed the part about aerobic and anaerobic.

I looked into a subsoiler a while back, but our tractor is too small and ground full of rocks below where we've dug tons out already.
