Well with work season upon us and my hour meter creeping into the 2 hundred and teens I did the 200 hour service yesterday on my CK30 while it rested on the trailer. This service involved engine oil and filter, hyd filter, and HST filter. The replacement filters that I installed at the 50 and 100 hour service are much easier to remove than the original painted on Kioti filters. The trans fluid no longer smells like new, it has a slight burnt smell to it but just normal I think, about like your power steering fluid smells on your pickup. Color was good.
I purchased a 3$ fuel filter too. I am a little bit intimidated by the fuel filter and didn't replace it last night. I have replaced several fuel filters on my bull dozer but they were the spin on style and there was a bleed screw on top of the housing. The Kioti replacement element looks more involved and there is supposed to be an O-ring that is not described in the owner's manual. Does the air purge function of the Kioti work pretty well? Is the O-ring eaily damaged or lost?
All is well and I will need to add some makeup tranny fluid to the sump to make up for fluid lost in the filters. The whole thing only took an hour or so and included greasing the zerks.
The optima type acidless sealed battery is working like a champ with no spillage. Highly recommended.
I noticed a million bugs have been plastered to the front of my alternator and the inside of the engine compartment right next to it. It seems the bugs make it through the radiator screens and get hit by the fan. Millions of them.
My fan belt has gotten a little loose and I noticed that the adjustment is already almost maxed out. I will try and get a little more from this belt but might need to replace it with the next size smaller from Napa.
I am expecting another full two days of burning slash starting tomorrow. My wetland guy told me to remove all the slash piles so here we go. Last weekend was quite a weenie roast. I'll bring the camera for some action photos so that you grapple guys can tell me how much easier it would have been with a grapple.
