My book says to change the Hydraulic and Hydrostatic filters at the 200 hr service but not the fluid. Can you remove those filters without losing large amounts of the fluid? I'm not near there yet, but saw that and was wondering how one does it. Thanks.

on the ck20 not much comes out at all. Just have the new one ready to screw on.

I have a gear model DK 35, so I only have 1 filter..
I had a new filter ready and only lost a quart or 2 of oil changing the filter.

Will be just a bit longer until I hit that point, too - but I think I will just replace all the hydraulic fluid at that point. I can't imagine that the small extra $ amount by replacing it at this point would hurt.

kiotibill, you must have more money to burn than me. :)

And speaking of such, when I did my 50hr maintenance, the "local" dealer charged almost $80 for just the HST filter. Is that normal? I haven't been impressed AT ALL with our local dealer. The HST filter is the only filter they had...didn't even have an oil filter. IMHO Kioti needs to be a bit more particular about who becomes dealers and their part stocking requirements. This same dealer didn't have hydraulic connectors or even grease zerks. For the record, I have put my .02 cents worth about them to Kioti.

But, back on topic, thanks for all the responses.

I have a 20HST and paid $12.95 for one HST filter and $14.95 for the other HST filter from reputable dealer, $5.95 for oil filter (CK 20 has two HST filters)
So I would suggest that your dealer is not reputable, I had mine shipped from Wallace

200 hours on the hydro oil isn't much unless you have overheated it somehow or had water get into the oil. I think the 400 hour oil change is within the oil's normal life under normal conditions. Changing the filters just keeps everything clean and full oil flow in case of a filter starting to clog.

$80 is very high. I just picked up a full set of filters and the hst was around $15 and the hydraulic was around $35. I have a CK30hst. Check with one of the Kioti dealers that lend a helping hand here on TBN. They'll be happy to UPS them to you. One dealer has no shipping charge if you order a full set. I keep a full set on my shelf for when service time arrives and as some have experienced, the hst filter can take a hit on the CK30hst because of its mounting.

In the future I will order from one of the dealers on here. Thanks for all the help.
