Just became the proud owner of a pristine 2000 6x4 Gator with all of 250 hours on it. Looks showroom clean and runs GREAT (starts with a simple turn of the key even at 0F and just a whisper of choke)
Anyhow, one thing I know that's common with these guys is the little grind when putting into gear. Well, I if I have the bed raised and pull on the throttle linkage so the idle drops down a bit - putting it in gear has no grinding because the secondary clutch isn't rotating at all at the lower speed. These forums told me grinding is = to too high idle.
The carb looks like there's 2 screws (a black plastic capped one and a all metal one) - nothing in the owner manual about idle speed adjustment other than telling me it's set at the factory. Guessing he black one is rich/lean adjust. (this is the liquid cooled Kawasaki engine here)
I can easily mess around but figured I'd ask here and see what lessons have been learned before I go screwing around.
Thanks in advance.
