The only thing "power beyond" about that valve is that it uses the power beyond flow from another valve. Being a symetrical valve body, it would be as strong on the T side as the P, so it can take the back pressure of a down stream valve. That's my thinking anyway.

That sounds correct, although I'm somewhat surprised the electric valve is rated for power beyond without running a line to tank.

What is the spool type in the WR Long valve? I.e. Does it allow flow from pressure to tank in the center position? If not this would cause your pump to go to relief pressure when no function is being used.
