2001 NH TC35 4wd front right hand final drive, upper and lower upper and lower drivetrain housing, etc.

Question about taking the right hand final drive/drive train housing apart. I removed the cover #4, unbolted tie rod, power steering cylinder. Removed lower cover #28, along with the shaft #25, gear #26, and bearing #27. I removed 21/22 arm. Removed case #13 upper drive train housing from axle housing along with #10 lower drive train housing. The problem I am having is that I cannot separate the upper #13 and lower #10 drive train housing? Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Here is the repair manual chapter for the TC35A, TC35DA, TC40A, TC40DA, TC45A, TC45DA front axle. Your diagram is a little different but pretty close. Let us know how you get it apart.

Thank you so much for this! I think I will have to work backwards with this a bit and reinstall the vertical shaft, gear, bearing and bottom plate (#25, 26, 27, 28). Pulling those things out before before pulling the upper and lower case may have misaligned the bearing and seal (#11,12) not allowing the top case (#13) and the bottom case (9/10) to separate and come apart. I hope I did not screw anything up. I will let you know how it goes. I have to work slowly, just got out of the hospital 3 weeks ago with major heart problems. Is it OK if I confer with you as I move along? I am exceedingly grateful for what you have already done for me! So again, thank you kindly!

Mangled seal #12 around bearing #11 tied the upper case to the lower one. Took about an 2 hours with a brass drift pin, and some surgical work with a small hardened steel chisel. Cases ok, new seal and bearing on the way. Everything else checked out good.
