Curious for your opinion.

I'm looking at a used tc40D, roughly 1100 hours with a wood aftermarket loader. It comes with supersteer and a rear remote.

It is in great condition, definitely appears well maintained and cleaned during its life. Some minimal surface rust on a couple of wheels, but otherwise the paint is still bright and plastic is in good shape.

My out the door price is just over $13k from the dealer. This seems like a good deal, but I worry about creeping too far up in price toward new tractors being a more sound investment. What are your thoughts?

Own around 80 acres, 60 forested. Need to brushhog, move gravel and dirt, and move felled trees as I clear out some parts of my field.

I paid $12.5k for a 2014 LS G3038 with 143 hours, so $13k seems to be a little high to me.

Looks good price might be a little high . Check into clearance of loader bucket when turned full cock with super steer . Tc 40 came with a longer loader [17 la ] for supersteers, 16la for non supersteers. I don't know if woods addresses the sharp turning angles that supersteer presents. Otherwise Id buy it. Good luck.:drink:

Thanks for the tip, I'll look in to that. I think I'm going to ask them if they would roll the sales tax into the asking price to bring it down a little and make it more of a deal.

Did you get the tax rolled into the price? I bought a TC40D with 1165 hours this spring (not the DA) and had to find a loader to add to it. Total price for both was about $12,500. It's a good tractor and does everything I need it to do. If you search on here, you will find that one common issue with these tractors is the safety switch system that protects you from starting the tractor unless you are seated and have it in neutral with the parking brake on. You may want to check to see if that has been addressed on the machine you are looking at. Good luck!

Sorry, I forgot to follow up. The tractor sold while I was on a business trip last Thursday. I just wasn't in a position to move fast on it, unfortunately. They said they were getting too much interest to discount the price anyways. Thanks for the tip.

I actually just put a deposit down on a Kubota l3830 that was about $5000 cheaper (thought not as well taken care of as the tc40), so I feel like I came out pretty well in the end anyways! Happened to do a quick internet search at the right time and caught a deal right after it was posted, and the dealer gave me first dibs. Life takes some interesting turns.
