2002 Bobcat 753G
The other morning I went out to use my 753 Bobcat. Once I started it I pushed on my forward and backward control arms and the machine just locked up. So I brought down my safety bar and pressed the green button and my parking brake released plus I had all 4 lights that showed the machine was ready to use. However when I went to raise the loader bucket the foot pedal was completed stuck and would not move. (By the way, this machine uses a key to start it.) I went and rengaged the safety bar and pushed the green button and got my 4 white lights but still no lift or bucket pedals, they were frozen stuck. (My machine does not have a door switch and only has 345 hours on it. Unit always in the shed.)
So I called up my local Bobcat dealer's service manager and told him what had happened. He told me that it was possibly a shorted wire, so I then proceeded to lift the cab and hand trace all the wires. I made sure no wires had any bare spots and they all looked good. I spent the rest of the day doing various checks, with no abnormal signs any where. (When I do a code check it comes back with "none".)
So my question is has anyone had this problem of locking tilt/raise foot pedals on a Bobcat before? I have not yet talked with a mechanic who has experienced this. This bobcat is my pride and joy. Any help would greatly be appreciated!

Could it be in some sort of hydraulic lock in one of the solenoid valves?

I am not familiar with bobcat controls but it sounds like there maybe an electro- mechanical lock on the pedals. Can you see the pedals and control linkage to see if there is some form of lock pin?

The lift and bucket foot pedals are linked to the control middle bar, on each end of the bar. I did not see a lock pin. There are servo valves also connected to the lift foot pedal.

Does it have the mechanical locks on either side that the lap bar pushes down when it's in place? Maybe the plastic wear plates are too thin or have slipped enough that it isn't releasing all the way.

I don't know the answer to that, I will have to check tomorrow morning and see what I have. Thanks for the information.

There are servo valves also connected to the lift foot pedal.

Is there mechanical linkage from from the for pedal to the hydraulic directional valve? If yes then I doubt these servo valves & suspect they could be solenoids that pull a locking pin out of the linkage? Would also suspect that these would be some how operated via the safety bar so they the would lock the pedals when the bar is up so you can't lower the bucket on your head while you are climbing in and out of the operators station. Again this is just a guess since I do not know how bobcat is building there machines today. The one I owned 30 years ago didn't have any of these safety items.

These pictures show how the foot pedal is attached to the center bar. Also show the attachment point to the control valve.

Problem,
I have looked at these pictures and it appears that the mechanical linkage goes from the foot pedals to the control valve. What I was not able to determine is the purpose of three pins in the linkage shown under the gas struts. Not sure if these are to limit travel or prevent the linkage from twisting, etc. At this time I don't have any good answers for you.

Best of luck on getting this resolved.
