I disagree with that 100%. If they "pulled inside" you would ALWAYS have to loosen them to remove the implement so the arms could spread enough to clear the pins. Having them "pull outside" lets them swing free once the lynch pins are removed. Like Roy wrote-it really does not make a difference in the functionality of the sway links/chains where they are.

I went out today and heated cherry red the turnbuckle both sides and a result saved both end pieces, but will need the threaded rod and roll pin as the rod did twist right at the roll pin hole. now it will be cost affective to fix. yes I agree that the it makes no difference weather it's pulls in or out, but with the turnbuckle fixed, it still leaves way too much sway so I will have to find another way to lock her down. you are also right
that you have to watch the geometry so as not to bind when raising up

I'm here a couple of years too late, but passing time reading old threads...
I saw an anti-sway link setup that a fellow welded up to fit inside of his lift arms. It was a "X" of chain linked in the middle and the two aft sections had a turnbuckle for length adjustment. It had pins in to disconnect the aft legs of the "X" for spreading the arms to attach an implement. Once tightened, there was no sway (if tightened fully).
