Oil & Fuel 2002 TC29D Which Oil Filter?

Hello All!

Help. I have a 2002 New Holland TC29D. I recently went to the nearest dealer (about 70 miles away!) to get oil and filter for an oil change. The dealer parts guy gave me a filter which is way smaller than the one on the tractor. The dealer insisted it was the correct part number even after I told him it seemed way too small. I was able to get the part number off the old filter when I returned home it is 86546618. The part the dealer gave me is 87415600. The filter from the dealer is so much smaller that I question if it will even line up with the engine seal. I searched Messick's for the 86546618 and it says "0 in stock" Any help?

I just checked Messicks again and it also calls out the smaller filter p/n 87415600...will this fit? Thanks

86546618 has been discontinued for several years. 87415600 is the valid substitution and the proper engine oil filter for your tractor. If it makes you feel any better, the PF46 that my GMC 5.3L V-8 uses is about the same size.

I was just a little nervous since the filters are so much different in size. Thanks for the feedback I will change the oil today and move on. Thanks again.
