Hello,
Is 19,000 to much to pay for a 2003 TC40D,Diesel,MFD with a NH loader? It has 1,000 hours on it.

Best Regards,
Steve

Steve,
Does the tractor come with any other implements or options? If you can give every bit of info that you can, than the folks on this board will let you know what it's worth very accurately! If this is all that the tractor has, than I am guessing it is a little high. I don't think that 1000 hrs. is at all high for a tractor though, just a little high for the price. Also, sometimes folks get a little busy and it may take a day or so to get a few answers.

Hello Daryle,

Thanks for the encouragement.

The tractor is a four wheel drive model with the Hydro transmission and it has the 16LA loader, other than that no frills it is in very good condition with 1,ooo hours.

I have 45 acres with a lake in the middle of it. 7 acres in pasture, 10 cres in water, 2 acres in yard, and the rest in timber. The driveway is 2 miles long and needs the potholes filled and minor grading twice a year, 7 acres to mow 3 times a year, and getting out 10 cords of wood a year. May be the TC40D is over kill? Would a tc30 be enough tractor for this.

Thanks again.
Kind Regards,
Steve

I think the TC40D is definitely not overkill for your acreage. I also think your deal is very high. That's almost the price of that tractor when it was new. $16,500 to $17,000 is the high range, maybe even less. I'd offer $15,500 based on no warranty and the 1000 hours. If they won't negotiate, I'd tell them to keep their tractor. Heck, for $21,500 or less, you can buy a brand new 2006 TC40DA and have a warranty and no hours. Wouldn't that make more sense than spending your money on a 2003 tractor?

I agree with Jim. Price is high.

The used tractor market would support that kinda price. We have a 2003 TC40, Loader, with 200 hours that we are asking $19,500 for.

Hello Folks,
Up here in the Northwest the tractor dealers stick to their guns. No negotiations on new New Holland. There are 5 NH dealers and none will budge on prices. On the tc40ad the price is 22,600 with loader only, take it or leave it. What do I do? Then there is the 8.9% state tax to deal with also. That is a down payment on a trator!

Buy a Mahindra? Tym? I feel a lot more secure with the New Holland.

Are you in W WA? If so I found the dealers here to be quite willing to bargain on new equipment. The used equipment market for compacts though is very tight....or was when I was shopping last spring/summer. If I had trailered my tractor out here from NH I could have gotten more for it...even after expenses. Who were you dealing w/?
