2004 RTV for $9000?

First time buyer. Looking at used RTV 900s. Not many to be found in our area. Located a 2004 with only 271 hours on it. Obviously very well taken care of with little use. No extra special bells or whistles on it.

Should I be scared off by the age? Is that a decent price or too much given age? I'm sure there have been improvements since, but are RTVs of this age known to have any significant negative issues?

Light use around our small hobby farm. Dumping manure, hauling hay bales, hauling wood, maybe pulling light rake for horse arena.

Thanks, Trails2004! I was able to do some price comparisons for RTVs in my state and a couple of surrounding states. The one I'm looking at actually seems fairly reasonably priced. These things must hold their value well. $9000 seemed like a lot for that age, but maybe not with those hours on it. Appreciate your help.

I recently bought an'05 with 5XX hours, one owner, garage kept,Essex steel top and plastic windshield for $7950. I too thought it was a little high but shopping around it turned out to be ok. The biggest complaint I have is the grabby dynamic braking and hard shifting on grades. These have been corrected in later models. I had a Linex liner sprayed in the bed which to me is a worth while investment. All in I'm happy with mine and have similar uses to what you are looking at.

Thanks Jim Nelson! I thought this seemed a bit high but it's not out of the ballpark, I guess, with the 270 hours. I'd still like to get it down to around $8000 but I don't think the dealer is going to go much lower. I'm not finding many for sale in northern Michigan.

If your buying from a dealer there may be special financing from Kubota Credit which can sweeten the deal. There are also options of asking dealer for 1 year warranty which they would probably give you with a smile with the number of hours and/or ask for the next complete fluids and filter change or for the parts for you to do the change.
If your financing and with no interest it's better to finance and do other things with your money. You may want to check the monthly payments for a new one. With Kubota tractors most people go that direction with the small difference in monthly payment.
I see 4 wheelers 10 to 20 years old and RTVs for near new prices and that's why I bought a new Kubota RTV500 to add to my RTV1140 stable. My 14 year old grandson (He has been driving the RTV1140 since he was 6 when I bought it and his younger brother at 6 now drives them also) wanted a dirt bike or 4 wheeler which don't come with seat belts, roll bars and go to fast so I chose to buy a RTV500 which has satisfied his lust for a bit more steerability/nimbleness and seems a bit faster than the RTV1140. New with 0% financing made the new near the used prices.

Dealer gave me $9k for my 2006 RTV900 with low hours and many extras. They said it was sold within an hour of being off the truck but I don't know what the price was.

For a reference, it took me about a month to sell a 2010 RTV1100 (cab, heat, ac) with 600 hours for $10,750. Lots of tire kickers out there - first man to see bought it.
