2004 TC45DA here\'s what one dealer gave me!!

Went to the dealer yesterday and looked at the Boomers. Here's the run down he gave me on a 2004 model. Tell me what you guys think.

TC45DA:
-HST
-R4 Industrials
-SuperSteer/SensiTrak
-17LA FEL
-QA Bucket/FacePlate
-6ft Bucket with Toothbar
-Two rear remote valves installed
-Filled rear tires.

Hopefully he'll throw a nose guard in for me. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif If I decide to get it.

Tax and all included $25,280. Southern Ohio Dealer.

He didn't have a TC45DA on the lot with SuperSteer so I would have to order. He told me it would probably take around 3 weeks to get one in. So watta ya think. Yeh or neh. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: 2004 TC45DA here\'s what one dealer gave me!!

I got a TC40DA without Supersteer, without quick change, without remotes for $22,455 NOT including tax (24,246 with tax) so I'd say you got a great deal. Good luck. Mine gets delivered next week. I payed a small premium probably, but he has his on the lot ready for delivery, along with 4 TC45DA's.

TMAC,

My TC40D (last year) with the following:

R4s
NO supersteer
16 LA FEL w/ HD bucket
Bolt-on Toothbar
Quick Attach
Two rear remotes
Arm rests
Grill Guard

Total without tax was $22,800.

Yours sounds like a good deal to me.

Your price is not bad considering you are paying about $1500-$1700 for your Supersteer. I think you should try a tractor with supersteer before you "lock-in" on one. My manual says the front of the loader can move "as much as 8 in." in the opposite direction you expect during steering. I just have a lot of trouble with that when I have a bucket with a toothbar or without one.

Oh well, it's hard to teach an old dog like me any new tricks I guess. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

It's very true that the SuperSteer takes some time to get used to. The adverse yaw that it causes with the loader can be used to an advantage though. When I'm digging into something light and bulky, I can shake the steering wheel left-and-right a bit and the loader will "saw-tooth" it's way into the pile. It's nice to be able to do that because the material doesn't get pushed around nearly as much and the tractor doesn't look like a dog trying to lick an icecube on the kitchen floor...

Jim and Mahlers are both right on cue. SuperSteer does come with a learning curve. As long as you know that upfront then I am confident that you will quickly adjust to it like I did. I think the big surprise comes from owners that don't expect the side shift when using the loader. it is a lot more prominent when the tractor is stopped. I think it's a plus to be able to saw/cut into a pile of debris like Mahlers described. I'm all for SuperSteer.....

I still advise test driving a tractor that is so equipped before you order it on your own rig.

Thanks for your replies so far folks.

Jim I did get on a TC35DA this weekend without SuperSteer. I drove it around the lot a little bit. Even it seemed to turn quite sharply without the SuperSteer. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

You say your manual says the 17LA FEL can sway 8" left or right during turning operations. Well that's something I did not know yet. Is that due to the Loader being longer than the 16LA?

So you have a little more play with the 17LA, hmmm /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif. Seems like that would get a little annoying rocking back and forth after awhile.

Wonder how much that would affect the stability of your load?

Hey that is one heck of a description you made their mahlers. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif "It's nice to be able to do that because the material doesn't get pushed around nearly as much and the tractor doesn't look like a dog trying to lick an icecube on the kitchen floor..."

Pine Ridge I was wondering how you liked yours as well. But you have aswered that question.

All good points thanks for making me aware of that. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Mike would you happen to know if the SensiTrak option helps on not tearing your lawn up to much? This is one of the reasons I want the SuperSteer/SensiTraK option. That and to make tighter turns when mowing and the easy of SensiTrak to kick in when I need a little more traction and I'm not aware of it. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

TMAC I see it as a BIG plus. Sensitrak does 2 things, it automatically powers up the 4 WD as it is needed so it is a fully automatic transaction from 2 WD to 4WD and SensiTrak lets the inside wheels travel less distance or roll in a turn than the outside wheels thereby saving the turf considerably.

Most anyone with standard 4 WD can tell you that when you make a turn the inside and outside wheels are turning or rolling at the same speed so the turf suffers as a result.

Re: 2004 TC45DA here\'s what one dealer gave me!!

I just got a new TC45DA with supersteer and the 17LA loader. After six hours of use mowing with the loader on, supersteer has been great. Me and the wife have both adjusted to the movement of supersteer and have had no mishaps with it. I think that you have gotten a very fair price on this tractor. Also, I agree with PineRidge about the SensiTrak. It does do its job very well. Take for instance, the day of delivery, it rained all day, and rained most of the seconed day up till dinner. I came home from work to find a very muddy tractor. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif. My wife had been out playing with it on the yard and I could not find one area of the yard that was torn up. I have no regrets about SuperSteer and the SensiTrak combination.
