2005-06 s185 Bobcat. Computer problem, unit goes dead

I have a 05-06 s185. Has glass door, a/c unit, joysticks,. there is something in the computer board or wire harness on the right side of unit (when your siting in the cab). When you hit yellow button to turn on display, it beeps, gauge needles flip across, hour meter lightsup and then it all goes dead. Ive narrowed it down to either the board or the plug in harness. if you lightly bang on the glass display it will work. Took apart the panel and removed sealed cover to board, there were no obvious broken solider welds or burnt spots. The harness and pin connector seamed ok. Any suggestions.

I have operated a similar Bobcat skidloader, but am no expert. Here are some generic troubleshooting suggestions. I seem to recall that there are a number of safety interlocks that must be in the correct position to allow start up. Is it possible that when banging on the display, you are actually inadvertently moving one of the safety interlocks?

If safety interlocks are not the problem, I suggest using a volt meter to probe the wiring harness and circuit board connections to find the 12 V positive and ground, and to inspect them closely for possible weak or intermittent connections. Try some contact cleaner.

If tapping on the display brings it back to life and problem is not corroded or loose pin connection in plug on the back, then more likely the panel is bad.

I have same year,model and problem.my tractor dies if I hit a hard bump.I can bang on comp. and it will come back on. I am leaning towards loose or bad circuit in board

Quite likely, just check all electrical connections first.
