I might look at a CK20. It has a 60" loader and backhoe. It has 415 HRS. They are asking 14,950 which seems high to me with the hours. I suspect the owner has taken good care of it and maintained it well hence the high price. I was thinking 12,500 13,000 max.

It also comes with a Scraper that I do not care about.

I should check the inside for cylinder cracking
Check the Key hole
Peddle for sticking and rust
Make sure the cylinders are holding and not slipping or loosing preasure

Anything else?

How is that price?

Thanks,

WP

Certainly seems high to me assuming it's gear and not HST, the hours is not that bad. I have 370 hours on mine and it is still as tight as a new machine. There are plenty of people on here with thousands of hours on similar machines.

I also believe that year did not include the suspension seat or cup holder. The cup holder is not nearly as big a deal as the great suspension seat but both are worth the price of adding on. Assuming it is well taken care of and often serviced then I would offer about $11,000 and not go much higher then $12,500. Brand new that setup would probably be about $17,000-$18,000 and have a 4 year warranty, more powerful motor, updated loader and curved boom backhoe.

Since it has the older design loader that was prone to cracking under the access panel for the hydraulic line, ask to remove the panel on the loader arm cross tube and look for cracks at the bolt holes. That is assuming they have not yet had the reinforcing bracket installed from the dealer.

Here is a picture of the suspension seat on mine:

a 60" bucket is not factory.....
Price is a little high but if it is in good shape you are saving about 5k from new.

The 2005 CK20 is a nice machine. Do check out the loader (repair kit installed or not) and also consider that the KB2365 backhoe is good but has a history of control valve issues that might need dealing with out of warranty.

The price does seem a bit high considering it is not a low hour unit. I traded in my 2004 CK20/TLB and got 12.5 for it a couple of years ago with half the hours. That was a trade in so you might expect to pay a bit more but then again I had lower hours and an FEL QA adapter on the machine.

As Rick pointed out, that year the standard loader bucket was 54" as I recall.

Here's another data point. I found a friend of mine a 2005 CK20 gear TLB with 250 hours in good shape for $8000! I know. My buddy got a steal. The original ad. had it listed for $10000, and I thought that was a good price. But, being the horsetrader that my friend is, he got him down to the $8K.

If it were my money, I wouldn't pay over $12K, no matter how good the condition. If it had the new loader, I might go a bit higher.

Okay I want to know who is spreading rumors???;)
I would love to ship you out one tomorrow but I would think you would do much better with price locally.
Also don't forget about the service a local dealer can provide for you.

Yea, the local dealer is great. Or at least he seems great. I shot him a message today and he let me know the prices increased since Aug.

The 05 is to high and my gut was telling me that. I offered 12,500 site unseen. Plus they are so slooooooow to respond. So they are not motivated.

Back to looking.

Thanks for the help everyone!!

Is this the tractor you are looking at?

If so, it says "includes front loader and 60" scraper blade" so the 60" is the rear blade and not the loader width. It has the stock loader and from the pictures it appears to have the "fix" installed. It's a good looking tractor but I still wouldn't go over $12k.
