2005 HPX Trail Gator w/ Plow System Problem:
(This is a new updated thread bc the wrong info was provided in the first one.)

The Gator was jump started from an SUV the incorrect way and (positive to positive and negative to negative straight connects).
A following explosion of sorts came from the fuse panel and melted some fuses and damaged others.
The fuses were replaced w/ other fuses(which I am assuming were incorrect) and it was driven about a mile away.
After the initial jump the plow height switch was used and the machine immediately died out.
The Gator was jumped again the incorrect way and started.
On the mile long trip the plow switch was used but the engine would die out so it's use was discontinued.
At it destination the machine was shut off and from that point on would not start.
The proper fuses were put in place and jumps/boosts were attempted the correct way per the manual. A new battery was also placed in the machine.
However the machine still fails to run. It will try to start itself but again will not run.
A friend and great guy suggested it could be the ignition module (~$300) and it still might be but I wanted to get this out there w/ the correct data for those who might encounter a similar problem in the future and need a fix.

This is a pretty complicated question because it could be any number of things.
With the key off and a good battery if you unhook the battery cable and touch it back on the battery does it spark? If so something is shorted.
Do you have access to a wiring diagram?

Hey guys thanks for the input. I really appreciate it.

My friend was precisely correct. I owe him the credit for the fix.

Here is my summary of the event:

The initial incorrect boost/jump caused a voltage spike and along w/ the wrong fuses and poor connections caused severe arching which in turn burnt out the Ignition Module (AM132577).

Solution:

1) Replaced and fixed fuse panel w/ ATO style in-line fuse holders.
2) Replaced Spark Plugs (to be on the safe side)
3) Replaced the Ignition Module

Result:

The HPX Trail is running like new.

Good to hear, electrical probs can be a real pain to track down. Sounds like your friend knows what he's doing.
