I used my tractor for about an hour today and got off of it for about an hour. Went back to it put the key in all the dash lights on, turned the key and nothing. No dash lights and did not even try to turn over. Took key out and tried again but this time no dash lights came on at all. Checked all fuses and tried again. Dash lights on, turned key and blank again. No head lamps or hazards or anything. Checked battery and ground, all good. Something seems to reset after a 10 - 15 minutes because the dash lights will come back on, but with the same final results.

Any ideas?

Sounds like it could be a bad ground to me.
Did you check the ground cable where it bolts to the frame?

Ground looked good, but took some sand paper to it anyway and shined it up. Still doing th same thing.

battery and connections are new, had problems with that a few months ago. Checked again today and all clean. Battery shows almost 13V. Actually check the volatge across ther cables.

If there is not any circuit breakers on the machine, and you have checked out the battery and connections I would start looking at the wires at the ignition switch and the ignition switch itself. Do you have a test light? I would start from the battery and keep checking along the positive wire all the way to where the ignition switch gets it's power from. If you have power at the ignition switch you can check to make sure the power comes out of the ignition switch when you turn the key to different positions.

Check connections at the alternator and to the starter. Try wiggling them. Also if your cable has oxidized inside of the battery clamps. Starter solenoid. Or seat switch, pto switch. I am such a laim head at times it is usually something I have spaced out on. That's just me though.

If the connections at both ends of both battery cables are truly clean, bright and tight, I'd say your positive cable is junk. Been there, done that.

To follow up what rick and some of the others are getting at.. put a vom on the battery terminals and try to start.. see what it does.

Now put 1 meter lead onthe positive at the battery, and the other at the starter, and see if there is a.. well.. 12v drop there when you try to start.

I had the same situation over the summer, moved wiring by alternator, tractor started with gauges and lights working. Then yesterday same situation no lights no gauges wont start, Will go back to check 30 amp fuse, and wiring and connections around alternator and starter. check wiring from ignition switch down to battery. Will take time, not a big help for you but your not in that boat alone, will let you know what i find.
