So it sounds like they are keeping the ones with the most problems? (5000 & 6000 series) and getting rid of the reliable ones? (made by Mitsu & Kioti)....
Makes sense to me....;0

Yeah Duc.. just what they needed!! I just assumed that it was the 5-6000 line that was changing. The 7-8000 are fine the way they are!

Yanmar would make sense. They are slowing parting ways with Deere (if this is good or bad is up for discussion). They may have some open production space available.

The 5000 and 6000 will be the same its the 7500 and 8000 that will be replaced.
Cub sells very few of the 8000 series machines, probably because many Cub owners graduate up from small units and most of the smaller units made in the past 10 years are some form of a hydrostatic transmission. The 8000 series are gear tractors. Furhter, while the 7500 is not a bad machine, the Mitsubishi tractors are not the most reliable of the tractors out there. Mitsu makes tractors for a couple brands, and they are OK but I don't believe they are up to Yanmar standards. If Cub does move over to Yanmar for the 7500 and 8000 machines they could have HST machines for their whole line up. Further, they would be able to sell people on the advantages of the Yanmar engine, which is certainly one of the most respected powerplants in the world. Third, they could consolidate their suppliers and streamline their supply chain for machines and for parts.

I have no clue if they are doing anything with Yanmar, but given that Deere is slowly backing away from their Yanmar relationship, if I was in management at MTD I would jump at the chance to upgrade the Cub Cadet line of CUTs to Yanmar machines. JMO

Bob, educate me on the mitsu not being reliable? Is it the engine, trans, or some other component of the tractor that is not as relaible as others on the market? I just bought a used 7360ss this summer and it seems pretty much a beast for me. I'm ripping out stumps, digging ground, moving pretty big chunks of tree trucks (9'+) around with the woods 1200 bucket on it and it's really impressed me.

I have some acreage that I also bush hog with a 5' woods rotary cutter and aside from needing to keep the radiator screen cleaned often, I can get on it every morning and mow for 8-10 hours straight, never shutting it down. (Yes I get off once in a while to use the facilities, but I usually eat as I mow.

I think like others have posted that the 7000 and 8000 series are really built well, and I think with mitsu's history of other machines, trucks and the like that the engine and driveline are probably some of the best on themarket.

I cannot comment on the daedong version, others may chime in on that if they are up to mitsu's quality.

Just my opinion from working my mitsu very hard.

I owned two Mitsu Cubs and the only thing I ever noticed were the bolts on th emotor mounts working themselves loose.

I own a Kioti DK 35 ( same machine as the CC 8354).
So far after 5 years and 915 hours I have been very pleased with this tractor.
No problems. Tractor has been strong, comfortable and reliable.

A dealer has informed me that the 2007 compacts will be black and yellow in color. Cream is gone.

Alan

If anyone has a pic of these please post it.

I hope they don't just give the 5000 series new paint jobs. They need a lot of work/upgrading/modification or just let Yanmar build a replacement model in my first hand experience opinion. Although, the 60" MMM is excellent.

Has anyone asked CC exactly which models will be made by Yanmar? If I was a prospective buyer I would like to know. Speculation is just that.

Earlier in this thread someone said only the 7500 and 8000 tractors would be built by Yanmar.

The 5000 and 6000 series would continue to be built in the US - and presumably yellow and white still.
