I know that the lack of the deisel version not having a clutch cover has been covered here a few times. I wish there was a cure as this has been a big pain in the butt for me.
When I'm crossing a muddy wet branch on my property its not a matter of "if my belts gonna slip", its will I it ever catch enough to get me out of here. The clutch is never submerged but maybe wet for a second.
Is there anything that can be done to improve performance in this application?
Can the Clutch be cleaned without a lot of hassle?
For the first time today I noticed some trouble with the Clutch on dry land. When I started the vehicle and shifted into reverse it did not want to shift. I applied extra force and "chunked" it into gear. I then really had to rev the engine to get it to put power to the wheels. When shifting out of reverse and back into high it was still harder than normal to shift. After driving for a few minutes shifting became almost normal again. But, noticed when letting off the accelerator the engine was still powering the driveline. This went on for longer than the shifting problems. After about 30 minutes or so of operation it was shifting smooth and disengaging as it should.
Any suggestions besides avoiding wet muddy branches appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
