2007 mahindra 2015 surging idle and slow to rev .

Any suggestions ?
My dad just recently bought a used 2007 2015 with 185hrs time on the clock.
After getting it home we noticed that the idle surges slightly ,couple hundred RPM.
Also when you pull the hand throttle back to a fast idle its slow to build rpm .Once higher Rpm is reached it seems to fall in Rpm and back up again .
Fuel filter looks clean ,Air filter is new with no obstructions. Im guessing its a fueling issue but not really sure.No white or gray smoke is present.
Any thoughts?

I think I'd look at intake air first but that's just me. It could be fuel related too.

Thanks for the thought . I took the air filter assembly out of the equation initially and the problem remained .no change ..at all..

I think there are two air filters, an outer and an inner. Did you check, change or clean them both? On mine at least there are also two fuel filters inline with one another.

Yes sir I honestly removed the complete air cleaner assembly to check for any other obstructions further down the line.
All clear ,replaced with new filter element,same result .
Fuel filter I have only checked the rear filter below the tank .

Would seem to be fuel related, yet you checked the filter. Do you have good flow to the filter? Sometimes you can get some crud in the tank or in the fuel line pre-filter. Yet that usually gives you a miss and some smoke. I think the 2015 has a small fuel pump in the back, you might see if that is working.

Thank you for the response.
I have checked to see if fuel pump is running and it is . Could it be that the fuel pump is weak ? I'm not sure how to check fuel pressure on one of these ..

Dan, not sure of the pressure either, but it's a low pressure lift pump, so not much. I'd take off the hose coming into the fuel injection pump and point it into a bucket. Then turn the key on and see if you have a good steady flow of fuel. The pump may be weak or have crud fouling it.
