I have a 2007 Nissan Titan with 50,000 miles on it and when i plug i a trailer the lights on the trailer dont work , they do work when i plug it into other trucks. All the lights on my truck work including the lience plate lights. The whole wire harness is new from the computer board back. I cnat find the problem, can anyone be any help.

Some trucks that come with a tow package do not have the fuse installed that powers the wiring harness. Check that the fuse is installed then check the plug with a voltmeter to see if any power is going to it.

Grounds, check your grounds. Clean bright and shiny at all connections.

Check your plug. Mine got dirty on just the running lights pole. Brakes, turn signal ect worked fine.

As Dmace mentioned, verify fuses, and get out a volt meter. I do not like test lights for this; they may light with marginal voltage. I want to see a solid 12V when each cicruit(ie lights, turn signal) are active.

I have a Titan also and have no issues. When you say the wiring harness is new, why??? Was there another issue or did you change it trying to solve this issue? Check the owners manual for info on fuse that could be the problem. Also check the plug on the back of the truck with a volt meter. You can get a wiring diagram of the net or in the case of my Titan it has it on the dust cap to the 7 way plug. You may have a bad connection and just getting low voltage.

Does it have the factory towing package? Do you have the towing relays installed in the fuse box under the hood? If not, then your trailer turn signals and brake lights won't work, but the trailer taillights will work. Otherwise you'll have to break out the meter and start checking at the plug and work from there until you find your no/low voltage problem. Verify all your fuses/relays are in place first though--it'll save a lot of headaches.

could it be that the ground is bad?

If its a 2007 just take it to the dealer. It should be under warranty. You still never answered me when I asked why the wiring harness is new? What it the story and why was a new wiring harness necessary on a 2 year old truck?

is vechile power ac or dc. the reason for the new wiring harness is that the other on got burnt up when i hooked it up to a trailer that was wired incorectly.

All automotive stuff is DC. If you are still working on this you need to take it to someone who is qualified. Its pretty hard to burn up a trailer wiring harness so something must have been really wrong with that trailer. Did you wire it or was it that way when you got it?
