Hey guys,

I'm new to the site and pretty new to tractors too.
I'm looking at two used tractors that I think are both decent deals, but I'm not sure which one is a better choice for me.
I recently purchased 25 acres of overgrown farm land. Quite a few black berries and underbrush.
Here are my two options:

1. 1987 John Deere 850 4x4 with loader. (23hp)
Comes with: 5' Brush hog, 5' Box Scraper, 14" plow and disk.
Also included is a dual axel trailer that needs deck and tires replaced.
775hrs
$7000

2. 2007 Tytan International 334 with after market loader. (33hp)
Comes with 4' Flail Mower.
554hrs
$6000

The front tires need replaced on the John Deere and the it's been sitting outside. I saw all the maintenance records for the JD and the oil looked brand new.
The Tytan has also been left out side but all tires look to be around 70%

Which one would you choose and why?

Thanks in advance!

Jeff

Can you get parts for the Tytan? More hp is never a bad thing, but I'd be worried about the future of such an oddball. I just poked around on their website and it looks like it's falling apart. Already found a couple of dead links, and couldn't find any kind of dealer locator. Is it a rebrand of another make? If so, could be a good deal, if the name version and the Tytan have parts continuity.

On the other hand, the JD comes with the implements to do quite a bit more than what you laid out as your main task. Maybe buy the JD and part out the unneeded implements? I don't know what the market is like in your area, but around here the trailer alone could recoup the price difference after a bit of work(I'm assuming it's at least 7500lbs). Leaving the plow and disk as profit.

I'd keep the box blade, but then again I'd keep the trailer. :p

I would prefer the Deere with better parts availability.

What do you expect to do with the land is the big question? You may need a much larger tractor and implements to match depending on what you want to accomplish.
